Practice Areas

The information on this page will provide you with basic information about our practice areas. If you would like to learn more about them and how our attorneys can assist you, please contact us to schedule a consultation.

Civil Litigation

Sometimes disputes cannot be resolved, and litigation is necessary. We assist plaintiffs and defendants in business and commercial disputes. Our attorneys work with clients at all stages of the litigation process including pre-suit negotiation, mediation, trials and post-judgment enforcement proceedings.

Estate Planning, Probate & Elder Law

Our attorneys assist individuals and families with issues affecting the disposition and protection of their assets. We strive to assist our clients in preparing estate plans to fit their needs through the preparation of wills, trusts, living wills, financial and health care powers of attorney.

We also counsel clients in their Medicaid and long-term care planning issues.

When there is a death in the family, we work with the clerk’s office, financial institutions and other necessary parties to resolve estates quickly and efficiently.

Personal Injury & Workers Compensation

We handle car wreck cases, premises liability and other forms of injury claims. As your attorneys, we work with insurance companies prior to litigation if the claim can be resolved. If a claim cannot be resolved prior to litigation, then we will handle filing a lawsuit and guide you throughout the litigation process including, if necessary, a trial.

Should you sustain a work-related injury, you may be entitled to workers compensation benefits for lost wages, wage reduction, medical bills and disability ratings. We will assist you in navigating this cumbersome area of the law.

Social Security Disability

When people do not have the physical and mental ability to engage in gainful employment, despite their strong will to do so, how will they support themselves? The Social Security system is an insurance system created not only to help people after retirement, but also to help them throughout life. The benefits are meant to take the place of wages. There are two main disability programs that may provide benefits: Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits (DIB) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

Disability Insurance Benefits. (DIB) are for disabled workers and certain dependents who have worked enough (generally five out of the last ten years) to obtain the number of credits required to be eligible for benefits. In addition to the length of time, you must also have earned a certain amount of money each year. This money comes from FICA taxes withheld from your pay to receive credits.

Supplemental Security Income. (SSI) is a public assistance program. SSI benefits are needs based and based on the Medicaid criteria. Benefits are awarded to the disabled, people 65 and over, and visually impaired individuals who have income and resources below specific amounts.
