About Wells Law
For 40 Years, Trust Has Always Mattered
Our law firm’s origin goes back forty years to when our founder, R Michael Wells, moved to Winston-Salem to begin his law practice. After practicing with a large well established and highly regarded law firm, following a distinguished clerkship with the Supreme Court of North Carolina, he wanted to help build a well established law firm of talented attorneys committed to the highest of core values and to exceptional service to clients, the legal profession, the community and the state. But attorneys committed to their families, too. All of these values lie deep at the heart of trust.
It is these four pillars of trust which have been at the foundation for these 40 years. In these times of change, our trust in these principles has never changed.
Our attorneys have been chosen over the years by other respected attorneys to serve in key leadership roles in the local bar and the North Carolina Bar Association. Two of our attorneys have held key positions governing the profession’s ethics, and they have served as President of the North Carolina Bar Association and as Chairman of the Young Lawyers Division of the North Carolina Bar Association. They have been chosen to head numerous key community organizations, and they have been chosen by their peers for recognition of their skills as attorneys. Many of the most significant recognitions have come from the objective and quiet selection of other attorneys and community leaders. And the attorneys of our firm have been honored to be selected for so many substantive recognitions. Over time, the long-held trust in our core values and our commitment to service really does matter.
